Dr. Sparlin Visits Hunt Club Elementary
Completing his third elementary school visit in just four days, Dr. Sparlin spent time on Thursday, Dec. 15 at Hunt Club Elementary with school Principal Jeff Rainaldi. Easton Nealy and Ella Bailey, fifth graders at the school, led Dr. Sparlin around, sharing about their experiences.
This visit was one Dr. Sparlin practiced for, as he read aloud a story to a kindergarten dual language class entirely in Spanish. After the story, students were really excited that Dr. Sparlin joined them for a round of dancing, singing and acting out a silly song together in Spanish, and the students declared it muy bien!
During a math rotation, Dr. Sparlin joined a group for a board game in second grade.
Still recovering from his recent dancing, Dr. Sparlin joined a PE class of third graders dancing to a mix up of many songs spanning decades, each featured for just long enough to complete a few dance moves, then the next began. Just 15 minutes later, everyone's hearts were pumping, and it was time to cool down.
In his final stop, Dr. Sparlin sat with a small group of gifted education students in fourth grade, as they explained their understanding of decimal to fraction conversion.
This was by far the most active of his school visits so far, but Dr. Sparlin enjoyed every minute of it, having a chance to connect with students and staff throughout the school.
