Every District 308 student who is eligible for transportation services is assigned a specific bus stop and route number.  Our Routing Specialist in the Department of Transportation utilizes the Versatrans software system to determine the required bus stops.  The Routing Specialist considers bus seating  capacity, student data, boundary information, distance traveled, timing and safety variables during the process to create the safest, most effective and efficient bus routes possible.  We strive to place bus stops no more than .50 miles from each rider's home, although the distance from most stops is far less. Even though we may pass your house during the bus route, we cannot stop at your residence.  Bus stop locations can change from year to year as families move in and out of subdivisions, students advance grade levels and continual assessment of route efficiencies.
