Good morning, MAVS! Student Council would like to share the following information about autism - “There isn’t a cure for autism, and it’s a lifelong condition, but an early diagnosis can improve the quality of life of individuals with autism as well as their careers and relationships” (“Autism Statistics 2023”). On Friday, please deck yourself out in blue to show your support of Autism Awareness Month. Autism Awareness bracelets are for sale during all lunch periods for ONLY $1. Get yours before they are gone!
Congratulations to the Boys Murphy volleyball team on Tuesday in their match against Benarcik. A Team lost in a really close match by losing both sets by only 2 points. The B team was able to emerge victorious by winning both sets! Good luck to the Boy's Volleyball Team on their game away at Plank on today!
Hey Mavs! Tomorrow is the last day of the book drive, so make sure to donate any books or money while you still can! NJHS is running a book drive from April 17th to April 21st to donate to people who need books in Africa. This is a great opportunity for students and staff around the building to make space for new books while helping others. The boxes provided to your ELA classrooms will be the drop off spot for books. Don't have books to donate? Your ELA teacher will have an envelope for monetary donations so that you can participate even if you don't have a book. This is a competition; therefore, the winning ELA teacher's classes receive the prize of candy. There will also be a box and envelope provided in the front office so that staff who aren’t ELA teachers but still want to donate can. The flyers with more information about the requirements of the books that can be donated will be distributed by your ELA teacher. Help end the book famine in Africa!
