Good Morning Mavericks! Today is Friday, December 2nd, 2022 

Students: Today’s SST focus is on reading The BULLetin and Independent Reading.  All students should take a look at The BULLetin that is sent out at 6:00 pm on Thursday evenings or reading independently.  If there is a need for an SEL lesson extension, your teacher will let you know.

Attention 8th Grade! Oswego East Counselors were here on Wednesday, November 30th to present course selection and high school information during your PE classes. High School course selection (8th GRADE ONLY) is open in Tyler thru today! 

How loud can you cheer? How much noise can you make?  Come on out next Friday night and prove it!  Get ready for an exciting evening of great basketball, raffle prizes, food and fun!  Join your Maverick friends and family in cheering on our boys basketball teams against our 127th street rivals - the Heritage Grove Huskies.  On Friday, December 9th -$3 admission for everyone at the door.  The 7th grade game starts at 6:00pm and the 8th grade game is right after.  There will be raffle prizes awarded throughout the evening and a split the pot raffle awarded at halftime.  All proceeds go to our Shop with a Cop charity.  Come to Murphy on December 9th to cheer on our teams as we fight to keep the trophy at Murphy for another year!

This week's toy theme is dedicated to bringing in a Sports, Technology and    Character themed toy!  These toys will receive DOUBLE RAFFLE TICKETS for every toy turned in. Examples include (basketball, footballs, action figures, light up fire trucks; anything that falls under these categories). Gifts should be NEW, $10 and up, unwrapped and can be for children of all ages. Tickets need to be filled out with FIRST, LAST name and grade level.All toys and raffle tickets should be brought to room F121 (Ms. Gabehart’s room) after announcements every day. The homeroom with the highest toys count for this year’s toys for tots doughnut party is Mrs. Clausen’s class followed by Mr. Dudley’s.  You too could win the chance to partake in our tots for tots doughnut party as well as win the chance to be one of Murphy's elves-  bring in a toy today! The last day for toy turn in is Friday, Dec 9th - the raffle will take place at the end of the  school day.   

Murphy can be very proud of its Wrestling Mavericks. Although they lost to Traughber, there were a lot of great matches. Earning points for Murphy's varsity team were a win by forfeit made by Bobby Frierson, pins made by Benson Witkowski and Austin Crawford, and a win by decision made by Beckett Moriarty. For the exhibition matches, John Bridenstine pinned his opponent, Carmyne Manna won by major decision, and Holden Montgomery won by decision. Come cheer on your Wrestling Mavericks as they take on Heritage Grove in the Cafeteria next week Tuesday! Good Luck!!
