Good Morning Mavericks! Today is Monday, October 31st, 2022
Students: Today’s SST focus is AVID Organization. You should be filling in your planners for the week based on the posted WAAGs from your teachers as well as getting yourself organized for the week. If you complete your organization before the end of SST, you can independently read.
Attention all 6th, 7th and 8th grade girls: There is a girls volleyball intramural starting Thursday, November 3rd. Sign up sheets are in Student Services and they are due by Tuesday, November 1st. There are limited spots, so get your form turned in right away. You do not need any experience to sign up! If you have any questions, you can email Ms. Steele.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. Murphy is joining Grande Park in their fundraising efforts to support their staff member who will be fighting this disease. Awareness bracelets are available for sale for $2. You can buy them during lunch periods or in Student Services through Friday, November 4th. PLEASE NOTE: Please bring exact change as NO change will be given. You are welcome to donate more than $2 if you wish. Thank you for your support!
Mav’s:Murphy is excited to host the upcoming Fall Scholastic Book Fair. The fair will take place in the LRC Friday November 4th, Monday November 7th, Wednesday and Thursday, November 9th & 10th, during the school day. Special hours Thursday night 4-8pm during parent teacher conferences, and Friday November 8th, 8 to noon. Families can even set up eWallet to make shopping at Murphy easier. If you can’t make the book fair, you can also help support our school by shopping online. All orders ship home and book-only orders over $25 ship free. The online fair is available Friday, November 4th through Thursday November 17th. See the flyer in the LRC Google Classroom, your ELA teacher, or Mrs. Campasano for more details.
We are excited to announce October's Model Mavericks! The following students have been nominated by their teachers for showing excellent behavior in class and around the school community:
Evie Broznowski was nominated by Mrs. Zawacki for consistently having a positive attitude about school and learning. She loves being in class and is so helpful to her peers.
Isabella Coccaroh was nominated by Mrs. Cooper for showing up daily to the office, always willing to help with a positive attitude! She is an amazing office runner and a great example of a Model Maverick!
Kaydance Booth was nominated by Mr. Brooks who says Kaydence works hard to maintain a high grade in class. She shows up everyday prepared with her class materials and a positive attitude!
Kennedy Cohan has been nominated by Ms. Borneman- Kennedy shows up each day prepared with a great attitude. She is a great student and role model for her peers.
Vlada Nazarenko was nominated by Mrs. Avignone- Vlada is new to our county and since the first day of school has given her best effort to do well in her classes while learning English. She is polite, always has homework completed and asks questions when she does not understand. Keep up the good work Vlada!
Audrey Altemueller was nominated by Ms. Alesia! Audrey comes to class prepared everyday with supplies and homework, tries her best during all lessons and is a great role model for others.
Macie Samek has also been nominated by Ms. Alesia! Macie is "rockin' it all out" in 6th grade. She is prepared everyday for class, participates in discussions, and challenges herself during each lesson.
