Good morning Student Council Members: Please review the upcoming activities posted on Google Classroom. Today, we will be making Valentine's Day Gram posters after school in Miss Phillips's classroom. If you would like to help, please have a scheduled ride to pick you up at 4 pm. Hope to see you there!

Attention Mavericks: Are you interested in Yoga or strength and conditioning?  If so, Murphy Jr. High will be offering two opportunities for you to get involved here at school.  Strength and conditioning intramural will run Monday and Friday morning starting Monday, February 14th.  Yoga intramurals will run Tuesday and Thursday morning beginning Tuesday February 15th.  Information is available at student services or from Coach Dudley.

On Tuesday, the 7th grade basketball team opened their season by picking up two victories against Bednarcik.  In the first game, the Mavericks applied tough defensive pressure to pull away to a 12 to 4 halftime lead.  In the second half, the Mavericks were able to score more consistently to pick up the 38 to 8 win.  Emerson led the scoring with 17 points, while Avaya added 11. In the second game, the Mavericks showed a lot of first game jitters. Fortunately, they were able to come up with a 24 to 16 victory.  Avaya led the scoring with 12 points, while Soha and Jiana each added 6.
