Good Morning Mavericks! Today is Friday, December 17th, 2021

Attention Mavericks: Murphy Junior High School in conjunction with The Rotary Club is collecting coats for the annual “Coats for Kendall” winter clothing drive. Please bring in any gently used coats, scarves, hats, gloves or mittens. All collected items will be donated to local charities to ensure those in need in our local community have warm winter gear as the weather turns colder. A collection box is located in the main office. Mavericks please show you care by donating to those in need.

Mavs: Student Council members will be selling Candy Cane Grams during all lunch periods. This is a great opportunity to send your friends a special holiday greeting and treat. Each candy cane gram will cost 50 cents. Grams will be delivered to HOMEROOMS on Wednesday, December 22nd. Happy Holidays, Mavericks!

The Lost and found has temporarily moved to the cafeteria. If you lost a coat, a water bottle or any other random item please take a look during your lunch period. If you lost a more expensive item or a pair of glasses come check in the student service office. All items will be donated Dec. 22nd after school.

Hey Mav’s: The “BULLetin” was sent out last night, be sure to check the “BULLetin” for all the updated awesome Murphy news and information. 

The 7th grade basketball team ended their season by picking up two wins against Thompson. In the first game, the Mavericks grabbed an early lead and never gave it up. The final score was 31 to 21. Joshua and D'shaun both scored 8 points.Xavier added 6, while Brendan was good for 5. In the second game, the Mavericks trailed Thompson by 7 points at the end of the 3rd quarter. In the 4th quarter, the Mavericks rallied to tie the score and force overtime. During overtime, the Mavericks toughened their defense to pick up the 28 to 24 victory. Mathias led the scoring with 12 points, while Andrew and Michael each added 6. Congratulations on a having a good season!

As the 2021-2022 wrestling season comes to a close, Coach Kiefert and Coach Zaininger want to thank each wrestler for an excellent season. We are so very proud of the growth, leadership, and team support that was demonstrated throughout the season. The team voted on our most improved and most valuable players. We want to congratulate Jack Monn on being selected our Most Improved Wrestler. For Most Valuable Wrestlers, two were chosen for this year. Congratulations to Noah Snow and Lincoln Hoger on their distinction as this year's Most Valuable Wrestlers. Both of your leadership and commitment to the team are unmatched.

The Maverick Market is open today for the following Homerooms: Tysiak, Karvelius, Brown, Dudley, Buckley, Erickson, Miller (History), Calvillo. If you have bullseyes to spend at the school store, you may walk to room E213, after the pledge 

Mavericks: Nurse Lauren is looking for her missing ice packs! If you may have one in your backpack, locker etc. please drop off in the nurse’s office or student services. No questions asked!!

Hey, MAVS! Have you noticed your teachers wearing some unique clothing options this month? We would like you to join in on the fun! On Monday, let's celebrate our upcoming Winter Break by envisioning ourselves on a warm, beautiful island. Wear your Hawaiian attire to show your school spirit!
