Attention all Students: We will be taking FAST BRIDGE testing today. Please be sure to bring your headphones or earbuds to class.
Hey Mavericks! Murphy Jr High and Murphy’s PTO would like to invite you to the “WINTERFEST 2021” on Friday December 10th from 6-8pm! Mark your calendars! Start practicing your dance moves because there will be a DJ! There will be concessions for purchase, raffle prizes, a photo backdrop for all your photo ops and selfies. How do you dress, you ask?? Come as you are! Formal, Semi Formal, casual attire! Whatever makes you happy and comfortable! Tickets will be $7 and can only be bought at Murphy during your lunch periods, starting today through Monday the 6th. Those that have made a donation to the PTO will receive a free ticket (that can be picked up at lunch ticket sales.) Lastly, your school ID is required to gain entrance to the Winterfest Event (no ID, no entry). If you need a new ID made, you can obtain a new one for $5 in the main office. We hope to see you there!
Reminder 8th graders only: Course selection for high school electives is open in Tyler SIS. Log in to your Tyler portal to select the courses you would like to take next year in high school. This window is open now until Friday, December 3rd.
Mavericks: Murphy Junior High is currently collecting NEW toys to donate to families in the community who are currently having financial difficulties. Toy totals are extremely low so please donate if you can! The last day for "toy turn in" is December 8th so time is running out! Gifts should be NEW, UNWRAPPED, and $10 and up. On December 8th, 15 lucky winners will win the chance to serve as Murphy's “elves for the day”. These elves will win the chance to attend this year’s Toys for Tots Pizza Party AND can pick a FRIEND OF CHOICE to join in on the fun! This special event will take place on Friday, December 10th during the first half of the school day. Donate a toy so you can take part in this special event!
Congratulations to the Wrestling Mavericks on their win over Thompson Tuesday evening! Earning points for Murphy's varsity team were forfeits made by Lincoln Hoger, Noah Snow, Jack Monn, and Zane Hotchkiss. Varsity pins were made by Henry Quntar, Gio Battistoni, and Josh Sotelo. For the exhibition matches, Isaac Rodriguez, Remington Pelosi, Dominic DeMatteis, and Diego Vasquez pinned their opponents. Ashlynn Roberts won her match by accumulating more points. Excellent job wrestlers!!
Congratulations to the following students who were nominated by teachers as Model Mavericks for the month of November. If your name is called please come down to Student Services to receive your certificate. Azan Ahmed was nominated by Mrs. Burfield because Azan always comes to class with a positive attitude and ready to make everyone laugh around him. He always tries his best and participates in class voluntarily! Harper Dawe was nominated by Ms. Calvillo because Harper is responsible, respectful, and kind to others. She always has a great attitude and does her best each day. Way to go, Harper! Sophia Williams was nominated by Mrs. Clausen because Sophia always has a positive attitude and does her best on all of her work. She comes to class ready for a challenge and is willing to participate in class discussions. David Vasquez was nominated by Mr. Erickson because David is the definition of a Model Maverick. He is awesome in the classroom, has great relationships with peers and staff, and is always engaged. Gabi Tenney, Elizabeth Boecker, Annabelle Williams, and Goda Didjurgis were nominated by Mrs. Liskunas because this group of office runners is always ready and eager to help with what is put in front of them. They are courteous to all those around them. I love seeing their smiling faces on a daily basis. Thanks for being Model Mavericks, girls!

Hey Mavericks! Ms. Karvelius challenges all MarioKart fans to a race. Prepare to lose playing a round of N64 and Wii MarioKart. If you're a video game fan and you're looking to flex your skills, sign up for the Meet & Eat with Ms. Karvelius on Tuesday, December 7 during 5th period. Ask your homeroom teacher to sign you up.
The Maverick Market is open today for the following Homerooms: Borg, Meeder, Youngwith, Straub, McCallough. If you have bullseyes to spend at the school store, you may walk to room E213 (the room next to Mrs. Kunsch) after the pledge.
