Last night the 7th grade basketball team wrapped up their season against Thompson. After a low scoring half in the first game, the Mavericks held a slim 9 to 4 lead. The Tigers came out fired up for the second half and quickly sank 3 shots to take the lead. The Mavericks then toughened up their defense to shut down the Tigers for the rest of the half to pick up a 25 to 10 victory. Cassie led the scoring with 18 points, while Addison added 7. The team finished with a 7 and 1 record. In the second game, the Mavericks fell behind early. The Mavericks battled hard, but had difficulty closing the gap. With a little over a minute to go the Mavericks were still down by 5. The Mavericks then stepped up their game to pull within 1 point, but ran out of time in the 17 to 16 loss. Layla, Mia, and Natalie each finished with 4 points, while Lundin added 3. The team's second game record was 6 and 2. Thank you ladies for a great season!
