Good Morning Mavericks! Today is Friday, January 31st, 2020

The Maverick MURAL Club is taking on the challenge of the walls of MJHS.  Students will be collaborating to create and design murals for around the school.  More murals are on the horizon! The Maverick Mural Club will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school until 4:30 PM - starting Tuesday, February 18th. All students must have signed permission slip turned in prior to attending. Flyers are outside Ms. Cryder's room. Prepare to get messy!

Hey Mav’s: The 7th grade basketball team travelled to Plank to pick up 32 to 12 win.  While struggling to get shots to fall, tough defensive pressure held the Pirates to only 2 first half points.  Cassie and Ava led the scoring with 8 points each, while Sydney added 6. In the second game, the Mavericks suffered a tough 14 to 18 loss.  Audrey led the scoring with 9 points, while Layla and Miranda each scored 2 points.

Last night the 8th grade girls played Plank at home.  We started off shooting really well and went up quick by 8 and from there on never looked back. The girls played amazing defense and ran a good offense winning 32 to 15.  Leading scorers where Anna with 10, Anya and Morgan had 6 while Riley had 5  and Alex had 4.  In the second game it was a close game all the way to the end where we hit a couple of shots and took a 7 point lead and held on to the end for the victory.  Leading scorers were Maddie with 7 Zakiyah with 4 and both Emmas and Tea had 2. Great job last night ladies, also great job from the rowdies in the stands you were a big help to that win.

Today is Locker Clean out! 1st Floor D- pod after the announcements, students should use the large trash cans in the pod for any trash and take a few minutes to organize their lockers.
