Daily Announcements - 9/27/19

Good Morning Mavericks! Today is Friday, September 27th, 2019

This week, Murphy Junior High is participating in Start with Hello week. This event was created by the Sandy Hook Promise to help create a closer, more connected, and inclusive environment in our classrooms, school, and community. We encourage you to take part in these events and the daily challenges. Take pictures and post on social media with #sayhelloMU or email them to Mr. Falli or Mrs. Zawacki! We want to recognize the great things our students and staff are doing to help make Murphy an inclusive community! Today's challenge is: Continue to start with hello, continue to build connections, continue to create an inclusive community, and continue to make a difference!

Butter Burgers, cheese curds, and Concrete Mixers... You know what that means! Murphy will be hosting Culver's Night on Monday, September 30th at the Oswego location. Please come out and join us for a delicious meal in efforts to raise funds for our school. To ensure your meal is included in our total, please bring the NEON ORANGE coupon provided by your homeroom teacher. If you need a new flyer, please grab one from Student Services. We hope to see you there!

Want a change of scenery from the cafeteria? Or have you ever wanted to have lunch with your teacher and play games or talk about fun topics - besides academics of course - topics like Musicals, the Super Bowl, or Switch games? Maverick Meet & Eats is back with new sessions for this school year! For September, we have the following Meet & Eats available for sign up: 4th period Lunch- today - Watch the Office and eat snacks with Ms. Rerych and Mrs. Clausen! Talk to your homeroom teacher to sign up!

Attention all Mavericks! Starting Monday until October 9th, we will be collecting non-perishable food items for the annual district Food Drive. Can Murphy collect the most food out of the junior highs? Can we reach 5, 500 items collected this year? We will be having a couple of incentives for the food drive. Students will receive 1 Bullseye for the first item donated and a Jump in Line pass for the first five items donated. We will also be having a pizza party for the homeroom with the highest percentage of items per student. Will that be your homeroom? Additionally, this year we will be able to accept monetary donations. For every $1 donated, that student’s homeroom will have 8 items added to their homeroom count. Show Mavs care and bring in those items!!

Attention Mavericks!  Ms. Fell is looking for 6th through 8th grade students interested in joining the yearbook club!  If you are interested, please pick up an application outside of Ms. Fell’s  room, B138.  Applications are due to Ms. Fell by Friday, October 4.  Please see Ms. Fell if you have any questions.

Attention Student Ambassadors: Please report to Student Services after the pledge.

Who's ready to sweat rainbows??  It's not too late to sign up for Murphy's first ever Color Run on October 6th!  Come run or walk our 5K or 1 mile fun run, and cheer on Mr. Dudley because Crossfit Oswego challenged Mr. Dudley to a Burpee challenge.  How many Burpees can Mr. Dudley do? Come out to see and cheer him on.  You can also purchase extra powder to throw at friends. Come prepared to be colorized!

Hey Mav’s: The mini mall is open for first floor homerooms today! Bring your bullseyes with your name on them after the pledge!

Make it a great day Mavericks!
