Good Morning Mavericks! Today is Wednesday, March 13th, 2019

Did you know RBG went to Harvard, Cornell, and Columbia universities? What an intelligent lady!!  She also supported her husband through his cancer treatment and raised her two children while going to law school. While she was at Harvard the dean had the audacity to make all of the female students stand and explain why they were taking a man's spot!  Even with that kind of discouragement, she persisted! We will be sharing facts daily about Ruth Bader Ginsberg, AKA RBG throughout her birthday week. Happy Early Birthday RBG!!

Attention any 7th or 8th grade girl interested in playing soccer for Murphy:  Tryouts will be on March 19th. (Dress accordingly) There will only be one day of tryouts.  By this date at 2 pm, a current physical should be on file with the school nurse.  Also, each girl should be registered on the 8to18 website.

Attention students wanting to try out for poms or cheer:  All paperwork and physicals are due by this Friday, March 15th.  Clinics will start Monday in the cafeteria.  See you then!  If you have any questions, please see Ms. Fell or Ms. Cryder.

Any boys interested in trying out for boys’ volleyball must be registered by this Friday, March 15th.  Tryouts are next week, Monday and Tuesday.  Please see Ms. Steele in room E121 if you have any questions.

Have you seen the posters around the school about Murphy's Got Talent? Well...get ready! Sign-ups for auditions start next week in the music department. We're looking for amazing acts to perform in the 4th quarter assembly! Singers, dancers, instrumentalists, unique talents, we want it all! Start thinking about what you want to audition on! Sign-ups start next week on Monday, March 18 and close after spring break on April 5.

Want a change of scenery from the cafeteria? Or have you ever wanted to have lunch with your teacher and play games or talk about fun topics - besides academics of course - topics like Musicals, the Harry Potter, or Switch games? Maverick Meet & Eats has available sessions for March! Here are the March dates: 4th period lunch - Sorry, no sessions yet! 5th period lunch - Harry Potter on Tuesday, March 19th with Ms. Karvelius and Ms. Zawacki. 6th period lunch - Card games with Mr. Gerl and Ms. Rerych on Friday March 15th. 6th period lunch - Vision Boards/I Am Collages & Cookies on Tuesday, March 19th with Ms. Noll, Ms. Weihler, Ms. Zawacki, and Mr. Falli.  7th period lunch - Shamrock Shakes and Wii Games on Monday, March 18th with Ms. Steele & Ms. Miller. 7th period lunch - Vision Boards/I Am Collages & Cookies on Tuesday, March 19th with Ms. Noll, Ms. Weihler, Ms. Zawacki, and Mr. Falli. Talk to your homeroom teacher to see if spots are still available!
