Good Morning Mavericks! Today is Friday, March 8th, 2019
Have you lost something? We have many items looking for their owner! There are many water bottles, lunch bags, clothing and many random school supply items. Please take time to come check out the lost and found outside of the student services office to see if your lost item has been found. ALL unclaimed items will be donated after school today.
Attention all 7th and 8th graders: There will be a brief informational meeting next Tuesday, March 12th for those interested in track. The meeting will be held during homeroom next Tuesday the twelfth in the multipurpose room. Any 7th and/or 8th graders interested in joining the track team are welcome to attend. If you have questions, see a track coach: Mr. Zaininger, Mr. Brown, Ms, Gabehart, or Ms. Vihnanek.
Attention 7th and 8th graders, this year Murphy will be participating in the annual Aurora Sports Festival on Friday, May 10th. This is a great opportunity to compete with surrounding schools in various sports and events such as: bags, basketball, bowling, checkers, chess, golf, in-line skating, tennis, soccer, softball, tug-o-war, and volleyball. If you are interested in being excused from school for the day and joining the fun, please see Mr. Shields or Mr. Brown during your PE or Health class to pick-up a registration/waiver sheet to sign up. Keep in mind that not all who sign-up will be able to come. Grades, behavior, and attendance will be the major deciding factors on who gets to join.
Congrats to our Murphy Math team on their first place finish in last night's district math competition! In the 8th grade individual competition, Rohan Cherukuri placed 3rd, Arjun Ramesh placed 2nd, and Walker Lebeck came in first. In the 8th grade team competition, Rohan Cherukuri, Jason Gaston, and Aditya Ramsundar came in 2nd place. Walker Lebeck, Arjun Ramesh, Jeet Patel, and Jalen Lewis came in 1st overall. Great job to all of our Murphy Mathletes!
Mavericks! Today we will have concessions and games in the cafeteria as part of your rotation schedule. Everything will be priced just right for $1! Don’t forget to bring some money so you can enjoy some tasty beverages and snacks!
Attention any 7th or 8th grade girl interested in playing soccer for Murphy: Tryouts will be on March 19th (dress accordingly) There will only be one day of tryouts. By this date at 2 pm, a current physical should be on file with the school nurse. Also, each girl should be registered on the 8to18 website.
