Last Thursday the 7th grade lady Mavericks faced a tough Traughber team.  In the first game, both teams appeared to be evenly matched.  After falling behind 5 to 7 at halftime, the Mavericks were able to slowly pull away to build a small lead.  Traughber battled until the end, but the Mavericks held on for the 19 to 13 victory.  Anya led the scoring with 9 points, while Riley added 4.  Morgan, Molly, and Lana contributed to the team’s great defensive effort. In the second game, the Mavericks jumped out to a 14 to 0 halftime lead.  Traughber toughened their defense in the second half to slow down the Maverick scoring.  However, the Mavericks still came away with a 17 to 4 victory.  Anna, Madison, and Shemaiah each scored 4 points.

Make it a great day Mavericks!
