Daily Announcements - 2/15/19

Good Morning Mavericks! Today is Friday, February 15th, 2019

Hey Mav’s: Looking for some service hours? The Homestead Fun Fair will be March 9th from 11am to 3pm and they are looking for volunteers to help. You need to sign up by March 1st. Check out the Bulletin for the link to sign up!

Mavericks: Winter has arrived with a vengeance and cold and flu season is going strong.  Nurse Margaret is asking that you remember to wash your hands before eating and after using the restroom.  Remember to cough or sneeze in to a tissue or your elbow and not in to the face of your friends or teachers.  Use hand sanitizer frequently and do NOT come to school if you are vomiting or have a fever or if you just don't feel good.  Do this and we will all try to get and stay healthy until spring!

Attention Mavericks!  The Annual District Math competition is on Thursday March 7th.  Join other 6th, 7th and 8th graders from all 5 junior highs in both a team and individual math competition.  Let’s keep our Trophy and take down Bednarcik again!  See your math teacher for more information and be sure to turn in your sign up form by March 1st.

Hey Mav’s: The mini mall is open for second floor homerooms today! Bring your bullseyes with your name on them after the pledge!

Today is Locker Clean out! 2nd Floor F- pod after the announcements, students should use the large trash cans in the pod for any trash and take a few minutes to organize their lockers.

Attention Green Team: Due to the half-day, we will not meet after school. See you next week!

Last night the 7th grade lady Mavericks faced a tough Traughber team.  In the first game, both teams appeared to be evenly matched.  After falling behind 5 to 7 at halftime, the Mavericks were able to slowly pull away to build a small lead.  Traughber battled until the end, but the Mavericks held on for the 19 to 13 victory.  Anya led the scoring with 9 points, while Riley added 4.  Morgan, Molly, and Lana contributed to the team’s great defensive effort. In the second game, the Mavericks jumped out to a 14 to 0 halftime lead.  Traughber toughened their defense in the second half to slow down the Maverick scoring.  However, the Mavericks still came away with a 17 to 4 victory.  Anna, Madison, and Shemaiah each scored 4 points.

Make it a great day Mavericks!
