Attention Mavs: Student Council will be selling Valentine’s Day Grams during lunch periods today thru tomorrow. Grams will be sold for 50 cents and delivered to homerooms. Spoil your friends with a special treat to make their Valentine’s Day that much sweeter.

Hey Maverick Sewing Club! The Maverick Sewing Club will start today after school. Please meet in E103.

Attention Student Council Members: Today, we will meet after school in Miss Phillips’s classroom to create Valentine’s Day grams. We will meet until 4 pm. Hope to see you there!

Mavericks: The 7th grade girls’ basketball team split a pair of games against Bednarcik last night. In the first game, the Mavericks jumped out to an early lead.  Bednarick used a couple of Maverick mental mistakes to grab the lead.  Both teams played hard to keep the game close, but Bednarcik pulled away for the 18 to 14 victory.  Anya led the scoring with 6 points, while Riley added 4. In the second game, the Mavericks were able to score early and never let up.  The Mavericks had several players score on their way to the 35 to 12 victory.  In the 4th quarter, Madison got hot behind the 3 point line to score 9 points.  Emma Klosterman and Shyell were each good for 6 points.

The 8th grade girls also took on Bednarcik where we battled with them.  We ended up losing by 4 in the 4th quarter.  Leading scorers were Allie P. with 10 points and Trinity with 6.  In the second game we took an early lead and held on to it till the 4th quarter where Bednarcik tried to come back and took a last second shot to win but fell short.  We won by 1 point.  Leading scorers were Gabby with 6, Natalie, Mar and Dana all had 4 and Israeli and Megan added a bucket.   Great job last night.
