Good Morning Mavericks! Today is Thursday, October 25th, 2018

Murphy is excited to host the upcoming Fall Scholastic Book Fair. An amazing selection of books is headed this way! The fair will take place in Murphy’s LRC on Monday, October 29 through Thursday, November 1st from 8:10am to 3:00pm during the school day and during parent/teacher conferences Thursday 4 to 8pm. If you can’t make the book fair, you can also help support our school by shopping online. All orders ship free to Murphy. The online fair is available this Wednesday, October 24th through Wednesday, November 7th.

Hey Mav’s: On Tuesday night, the 7th grade basketball team opened their season with two hard fought losses to Bednarcik.  In the first game, the Mavericks started out slow and allowed Bednarcik to build a large first quarter lead.  The Mavericks battled back through the remaining three quarters to make it a game, but came up short in the 37 to 45 loss.  Malachi led the scoring with 16 points, while Armon added 8 and Ivan scored 5. In the second game, the Mavericks again started out slow and allowed Bednarcik to build an 11 point first quarter lead.  The Mavericks again battled back through the rest of the game, but suffered an 18 to 25 loss. Zac and Allen each scored 4 points.

Attention STEM Club: This Saturday is STEMfest at NIU!   We will meet at the main entrance to the convocation center at 1 pm and tour together until 3 pm.  We hope to see you there. Please see Mrs. Ramsbottom with any questions.

The LRC Great Pumpkin Contest is on! You have one more weekend to create your decorated pumpkin. Your chances of winning are greater than winning the lottery!  Entries will be accepted until Monday, October, 29th. Winners will receive a gift certificate to the Scholastic Fall Book Fair.
