The Oswego East Chapter of the National Honor Society recognizes outstanding high school students who have demonstrated excellence in Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character.  

Juniors and Seniors with an unweighted cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher are eligible for membership in the NHS.  For more information about the four core virtues of NHS please click here.

Membership 

Students that meet the minimum GPA requirement of a 3.5 unweighted cumulative GPA are notified by letter of their eligibility. The letter also details how to complete the Student Activity Information Form.  The form provides the Faculty Council with information on how the eligible students fulfill the four virtues of NHS.

A Faculty Council of five teachers reviews each candidate makes the selection for membership.  It is strongly suggested that students begin their involvement in service activities and extra-curricular activities prior to their junior year.  Students are also encouraged to file their service hours with Student Services.
