2023 SUMMER READING INVITATION FOR ALL
& SPECIFIC COURSE ASSIGNMENTS
Some English courses include required summer reading as an element of cognitive engagement and extended practice during the summer months. The course catalog also indicates that the following courses have summer reading assignments.
In addition to the 2023 summer reading course-specific assignments below, the OHS English Department also offers a recommended list of texts as an optional summer read for all students! We invite students to check out the Top 21 Books to Read Before You Graduate! These are excellent ways to engage in reading over the summer months.
For students desiring a few tips and examples to guide annotation efforts over the summer, please use the linked Guidance for Annotating Texts. Additionally, we recommend reading Why and How to Annotate a Book from the College Board (linked within the Guidance for Annotating Texts).
