Art

Art is once a week, for one hour. The students will be using paints and chalk in art so it is important for your child to bring an Art shirt to use throughout the year.  This can be an old t-shirt or an Art smock.  We have a basket in our classroom to hold these shirts, and the students can leave their Art shirts here during the year.

Music

Music is twice a week for thirty minutes.  The students will be learning about different musical instruments, as well as musical notes and rhythms.

Learning Center (LRC)

Learning Center is once a week for 45 minutes.  During this time, the students will check out a book and learn library skills.  Your child will bring this book home, and needs to return it the following week.  If your child is reading a book for longer than one week, it may be renewed.

P.E.

P.E is three times a week for thirty minutes.  In P.E. your child will be participating in activities that require appropriate gym shoes.  Please have your child either wear gym shoes on the days we have P.E, or have him/her leave a pair of gym shoes at school.  We have a basket in our classroom where they are kept for the school year.  If your child is not wearing the appropriate shoes on P.E. day, they will not be allowed to participate.
