The Environmentalists
Club Information

The Environmentalists is a group of students dedicated to improving the environment.
Founded in 2015, we have had an ambitious start to the program. We orignially started as a school recycling club. Then based on an energy curriculum grant from ESP (Energizing Student Potential) sponsored by BP, Exelon, ComEd, Nicor and People's Gas, we expanded to energy conservation strategies.
Here is a list of what we have accomplished thus far:
- recycling program at school
- recycling drives for the community
- upcycling workshops
- art mural project
- community clean ups
- Skip the Straw campaign
- Bernie's Book Bank drive
- Habitat Hotels for pollinators

Environmentalists Schedule & Application Information
Schedule for the 2022-23 School Year
Starting September 13th
Meetings are on Tuesdays before school, 7:30 - 8:00 am
Starting October 21
Meetings are also on Thursdays after school 3:15 - 4:30 pm.
Students can attend morning or afternoon meetings or both.
Some students may want to work on competition projects, so small group meetings may meet at other times depending on student interest.
