What’s Happening In May:

  • Monday, May 16  (7:00pm): BOE Public Forum at Plank Junior High School (Cafeteria)

  • Saturday, May 21 (10am/OH : 3pm/OE): Graduation at NIU

  • Monday, May 23 (5:00pm): Policy & Legislative Advisory Committee Meeting

  • Tuesday, May 24 (6:00pm) Finance & Facilities Advisory Committee Meeting

  • Friday, May 27: Last Day of School - Early Release (3.5 hr attendance) 
    Early Childhood - IN PERSON INSTRUCTION/Normal Session Hours for AM/PM

  • Monday, May 30: Memorial Day- District Closed

Community Event Spotlight: Take a self-guided Pizza Tour of Oswego and try pizza from local places and rate them with your family. You’ll soon have many new favorite places to eat! Thirteen percent of Americans are eating pizza at any given time, if you join the trend- support local! Hop in the car and follow along at your own pace and enjoy the beautiful scenery . Staff Announcements/Information

  • Prairiefest Parade - Sunday, June 19th (step off at 1:00)

  • Attention TEACHERS: We are “cleaning up” the Teacher Pages on the website. Please CLICK HERE to let us know if you would like to keep your teacher page or have it deleted (by May 15, 2022). If this form is not completed by May 15th the teacher page and content within the page will be removed prior to the 2022-23 School Year.  

  • Pathways Transition Center Presents: Phoenix Cafe - The Phoenix Cafe is OPEN on Wednesdays from 10-11am, at DAC- 4175 Route 71, Door #7. During this time period, enjoy fresh coffee while supporting the students of the Transition Center ($2/cup). Click Here for Flyer.

  • Computer Science Endorsement Program - The Teacher Training Unit at DPI (Discovery Partners Institute) has partnered with UIUC’s College of Education to launch the 2nd cohort for the Teaching Endorsement in Computer Science. Click Here for more Information.

  • Congratulations to the following district leaders who will begin new roles with the 2022-23 School Year! 

    • Dr. Heather Kincaid: Assistant Superintendent of Student and Staff Services, a newly created position. Heather has been serving as the Executive Director of Accountability and High School Education; she joined SD 308 in 2019. 

    • Jeremy Bell: Executive Director of Student Services, following the retirement of Valerie Patterson. Jeremy has served as Director of Special Education for SD 308 since 2020. 

    • Claudia Ruiz: Assistant Director of Human Resources, following the departure of Stacy Turner. Claudia has been part of the HR Department since 2019 in the roles of Substitute and Leave Specialist and most recently as HR Information Systems Coordinator. 

    • Erik Weidner: Assistant Director of Transportation, filling the vacant position following the promotion of Michael De Armond as Director of Transportation. Erik has been a part of the SD308 Transportation team since 2019, when he started as a driver.
