What’s Happening In April/May:

  • Friday, April 29 (6pm): TONIGHT!!! Bednarcik turns 20! Gathering/reception from 6 - 6:30pm followed by a short program to open the Time Capsule from 2002 and enjoy performances by the Bednarcik Choir and Cheerleaders.  The school is also inviting all who have ever attended Bednarcik to "Leave Their Mark" through a special project. A reception will be held after the ceremony, and an opportunity for tours provided by the NJHS Students.

  • Monday, May 2: AHA Wear Red! Day  Wear your new AHA tee OR anything red, snap a selfie of you being active, and send to STORIES@sd308.org to be entered into a raffle for one of two donated amazon gift cards! 

  • May 2 - May 6: Teacher Appreciation Week- THANK YOU!!!!

  • Monday, May 2: Policy & Legislative Committee (POSTPONED)

  • Tuesday, May 3 (6-7pm / Virtual): EL Presents - Dr. Ferney Seminar / “The Easiest Way to Learn and Strengthen the Mind” 

  • Monday, May 9 (7:15pm): BOE Meeting

  • Monday, May 16  (7:00pm): BOE Public Forum at Plank Junior High School (Cafeteria)

  • Saturday, May 21 (10am/OH : 3pm/OE): Graduation at NIU

Community Event Spotlight: Wine on the Fox 2022! Join friends, family and neighbors on Saturday, May 7 and Sunday, May 8 to enjoy live entertainment and delicious local fare, and have the opportunity to sample award-winning regional wines, while benefiting the Oswego community. This event is free and open to the general public, for those wishing to enjoy the wide variety of wine selections, including craft beer, the purchase of a wine ticket package is required. Bring your blanket and lawn chairs and enjoy live music on the Main Stage, food vendors will be on site. Held at Hudson Crossing Park.

SD 308 Retirees & 25 Year Celebration

Staff Announcements/Information

  • Prairiefest Parade - Sunday, June 19th (step off at 1:00)

    • SD 308 will be participating in Oswego’s PrairieFest Parade - “Just Another Day in Paradise”. We are asking for one staff volunteer from each school to please participate. Please CLICK HERE to sign up. For those walking, a free t-shirt will be provided. 

  • SD 308 Copy Center Information: A new portal to submit copy jobs to the copy center is rolling out.  During transition access to both the old and new sites to be unavailable at the same time.  Beginning this Friday, April 29th at 12pm the old site will no longer accept job submissions.  The new site is anticipated to be up and running by Thursday, May 5th. If you find that you need to submit a job during the transition, you can email ricoh@sd308.org with the file and any directions. Thanks for your understanding as we make the switch! 

  • Attention TEACHERS: We are “cleaning up” the Teacher Pages on the website. Please CLICK HERE to let us know if you would like to keep your teacher page or have it deleted (by May 15, 2022). If this form is not completed by May 15th the teacher page and content within the page will be removed prior to the 2022-23 School Year.  

  • Pathways Transition Center Presents: Phoenix Cafe - The Phoenix Cafe is OPEN on Wednesdays from 10-11am, at DAC- 4175 Route 71, Door #7. During this time period, enjoy fresh coffee while supporting the students of the Transition Center ($2/cup). Click Here for Flyer.

  • WANTED: SD 308 Staff, Help us tell our story! Do you have Great News? Exciting Wins? Interesting Stories? Fun Photos?......simply email stories@sd308.org and we will take it from there!

    • Below are some of great things recently shared- follow the district social media channels and website for more! 

      • Churchill Elementary - LSP PE Class: SD 308 High School Robotics team designed a piece of equipment for students with physical disabilities to utilize during PE. The battery-operated launcher simulates kicking a ball. Students had fun using it during a target lesson during PE class.

      • Traughber Junior High 8th Grade Symphonic Band, under the direction of Rachel Maxwell and Josh Johnson, and the Oswego High School Wind Symphony, under the direction of Kevin Schoenbach and Stephanie San Roman, have qualified for the 2022 SuperState Concert Band Festival being held May 6 and 7 at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign!

      • Congratulations to Brayden Aaron, OE, for placing 1st in the State at the Illinois Drafting Educators Association's State Competition on Saturday, April 23. He competed in the 3D CAD Modeling event. This is the first OE student to have placed at state in this competition!

  • PRIDE: Thank you to everyone who nominated individuals this year. We will be recognizing our last 2021-2022 PRIDE winners next month. 

  • Computer Science Endorsement Program - The Teacher Training Unit at DPI (Discovery Partners Institute) has partnered with UIUC’s College of Education to launch the 2nd cohort for the Teaching Endorsement in Computer Science. Click Here for more Information.
