Those Who Excel / Teacher of the Year Program

The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) annually recognizes those who have made outstanding contributions to public and nonpublic elementary and secondary education through its Those Who Excel program/Teacher of the Year Program.

This year, ISBE has divided the recognition program into two distinct nominating/recognition platforms: 

Those Who Excel (which will recognize five (5) categories): 
Administrator
Team
Community Volunteer
Student Support Personnel
Educational Service Personnel; and 

Teacher of the Year (which will recognize teachers):
Teachers (5+ years experience)
Outstanding Early Educators (Teachers with 1-4 years experience)
