Assistive Technology

What is Assistive Technology?
Assistive technology is any tool or device that a student with an IEP or 504 uses to do a task that he or she could not do otherwise without it or any tool the student uses to do a task more easily, faster, or in a better way. It can be a commercial product or something someone makes. It can be a simple “low tech” device such as a pencil grip, or an expensive “high tech” device such as a computer.
Can I get help?
You are not alone with Assistive Technology. We are here to help you find that right tool or device for your student and also help train, trial, and work with you to meet their needs at school. Send an email to Assistivetechnology@sd308.org and provide a little background about your student and your issue. Feel free to ask other teachers and specialists who know your student to email too! The more information, the better! An AT Specialist will then contact you and work with you.
